Would you like to be part of Microsoft’s Treasury team driving the company’s strategic environmental and social investment initiatives? This team works closely with senior leadership and teams across Microsoft to drive progress towards its sustainability commitments and Microsoft’s impact investments, which includes the Climate Innovation Fund, Affordable Housing Fund, and Racial Equity Fund. Microsoft has committed to be a carbon negative, water positive, zero waste company that protects ecosystems—all by 2030. This role is highly focused on achieving these sustainability commitments by driving and partnering on Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund, carbon & water fees, accountability, and sustainability purchase strategies.

The Senior Impact Investments Manager will partner with several stakeholders including Environmental Sustainability, business groups & their finance partners, Corporate Accounting, Tax, Legal, and Treasury as well as external advisors and companies.
Responsibilities
+ Lead investment transactions from end-to-end from sourcing, through diligence and analysis, and execution for Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund in partnership with Microsoft Environmental Sustainability and other business teams, as appropriate, and with a compliance-first mindset
+ Work across functions, organizations, and external parties to ensure alignment and coordination for smooth and efficient execution of transactions
+ Partner across company on carbon reduction and removal purchases through the use of investments and innovative financing strategies
+ Engage with key internal and external partners, including portfolio companies, investments, financial institutions, and other industry organizations, to advance programmatic efforts
+ Represent the team in meetings with key internal and external partners as well as customers
+ Perform market analysis & research and develop deep understanding of key market drivers
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 5+ years experience in investments, financial analysis, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years experience in investments, financial analysis, or related field
+ OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 5+ years experience in investments, financial analysis, or related field
+ OR equivalent experience
+ Excellent investment, analytical, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and financial modeling skills are key for success in this role
+ Ability to manage numerous transactions & models end-to-end while managing through ambiguity
+ Experience leading the due diligence process on prospective investments
+ Demonstrated ability to create clarity, collaborate, be inclusive, and be a curious learner
+ Ability to simplify complex information and highly effective written and oral communication skills for all audience levels
+ Compliance and ethics demonstrated in every action
Treasury IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
