Job Title: Compliance Specialist- Atlanta
Pay Grade: L
Workplace: Remote
Travel: 75% statewide
Job Summary:
Conducts compliance reviews of providers for adherence to Department rules and regulations, primarily focusing on Drug Abuse Treatment and Education Programs (DATEP), Narcotic Treatment Programs (NTP), Adult Residential Mental Health Programs (ARMHP), or Community Living Arrangements (CLA). Acts as subject matter expert in required areas. Functions as a resource within the Division of Strategy, Technology, and Performance based upon the needs at any given time.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintains working knowledge of all rules and regulations that are used to evaluate provider performance.
• Plans, schedules and implements compliance reviews as assigned.
• Evaluates provider performance, adherence to requirements, and draws conclusions based on evidence provided to develop findings of deficiency and/or to license a provider.
• Prepares detailed, thorough, professional and accurate reports by incorporating data analysis, data interpretation, rules and regulations which describe complex and/or technical information that can sustain legal challenges.
• Works closely with other staff to ensure review survey instrument adequately reflects provider requirements, policy, rules, regulations, laws, etc.
• Acts as subject matter expert in field of expertise.
• Independently conducts onsite visits.
• Maintains records in accordance with State and Federal laws at all times.
• Completes accurate, thorough, and timely entry of information into databases and applications.
• Communicates effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing, with providers and other stakeholders, including other DBHDD offices and divisions.
• Provides technical assistance to providers regarding policy, rules, and regulation requirements.
• Use critical thinking skills to determine risks to individuals being served.
• Represents DBHDD professionally during all interactions with providers and stakeholders.
• Travels statewide, approximately 75%, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of related experience or Associate’s degree in a related field and three years of related experience.
• Knowledge of DATEP, NTP, ARMHP, and/or CLA services.
• Experience working with individuals impacted by substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Professional licensure or credentialing in the field of substance use, mental health, or developmental disabilities.
• Experience conducting compliance audits based on regulations, legal requirements and/or accreditation standards.
• Exceptional computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
