    Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Career Success Coach position in the Student Engagement Division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta .

     

    Under the general supervision of the Career Preparation and Partnerships Manager, the Full-Time Career Success Coach is a highly collaborative role responsible for working with internal cross-functional ATC teams and external industry and community partners. The Career Success Coach (F/T) provides an array of intentional, direct student development opportunities to compliment students' academic journey in areas including, but not limited to, career planning, resume building, interviewing and negotiation skills, and professional etiquette.

    Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

    • Preforms career assessments and unpacks results to ensure student awareness of and alignment with ATC programs and career endeavors.

    • Teaches at least one section of the EMPL 1000, Employability Skills Course.

    • Develops career-related training modules for deployment through an array of mediums such as Blackboard student learning communities, virtual WebEx/Teams meetings, face-to-face workshops, etc.

    • Maintains and implements intentional career journey student engagements.

    • Provides career coaching and appropriate occupational information, tools and resources during each.

    • Annotates student engagements and career coaching notes to ensure continuity of services.

    • Documents career preparedness checklists for each student served to ensure progression toward post-graduation goals.

    • Provides cover letter and resume formatting guidance, mock interviewing sessions and feedback, professional etiquette coaching, and networking advice.

    • Remains knowledgeable of current local labor market information, such as employers and industries within the region which align with ATC programs.

    • Remains knowledgeable of skills, education, and experience area employers require and prefer, including skills and experience needed for growth occupations in key industries.

    • Remains knowledgeable of usual means of entry into area companies, industries and occupations, including the area's key employers and Industries, and how to apply for work there.

    • Remains knowledgeable of targeted industries and high-skill, high-growth occupations and detailed information about entry into these industries and occupations.

    • Remains knowledgeable of and able to use information about transferable skills from one industry or occupation to another to advise students/alumni.

    • Serves and contributes to Internal committees to design and successfully execute special initiatives, events, projects and activities (e.g., ATC #LeadStrong Mentorship Program, Career Services Huddles, annual career fairs for graduating students, employer visits to campus for recruiting and/or interviewing students for job vacancies, etc.); ensures student preparedness for each ; and

    • Performs additional duties as assigned.

    Competencies:

    • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public

    • Skills in test administration and interpretation

    • Oral and written communication skills

    • Decision making and problem-solving skills

    • Organizational skills

    • Knowledge of federal, state and local guidelines

    • Knowledge of job readiness and job development procedures .

    Minimum Qualifications :

    Must possess and demonstrate a Bachelor's degree in a related field AND Two (2) years of related work experience.

    Preferred Qualifications :

    Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate Three (3) or more years full-time professional level experience providing career coaching or counseling and/or human resource recruiter, benefits coordinator or other human resource professional in a post-secondary environment.
