Job Description/Requirements.
As a Director of Retail Operations, you drive revenue growth, maximize gross profit, and manage expenses to achieve AOP goals and strengthen EBITDA. You take a strategic, hands-on approach to ensuring operational excellence across your retail locations by developing talent, building scalable processes, and driving high performance. You foster a strong, positive culture rooted in accountability, teamwork, and Belle Tire's beliefs. What You'll Do
Leadership & People Development
+ Lead with energy, passion, and resilience to inspire high performance across all locations.
+ Identify individual strengths and create personalized development paths for leaders at all levels.
+ Provide regular coaching to build skills, confidence, and leadership capability.
+ Recruit, develop, and retain top talent while strategically placing the right people in the right roles.
+ Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture where team members feel valued, supported, and empowered.
+ Set clear expectations, deliver meaningful feedback, and hold teams accountable to performance standards.
+ Drive open and honest conversations around growth, encouraging continuous development.
Sales, Revenue Growth & Customer Experience
+ Establish clear, measurable goals tied to Sales and EBITDA for each store.
+ Balance revenue growth with cost control to maximize profitability across all retail locations.
+ Ensure sales teams execute the 6-Step Sales Process and deliver consistent, premium customer experiences.
+ Guide teams in driving customer engagement, conversion, and satisfaction.
+ Support stores in expanding market share through local marketing campaigns, customer prospecting initiatives, and public relations activities.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
+ Ensure consistent execution of safety practices, operational standards, and company processes.
+ Conduct focused, highly structured store visits with clear objectives, follow-up, and accountability.
+ Verify adherence to shop procedures, vehicle inspection processes, and alignment practices.
+ Monitor shop organization, safety compliance, and workflow efficiency.
+ Ensure store execution supports both immediate performance and long-term organizational goals.
Performance Management & Data-Driven Leadership
+ Analyze KPIs, financial results, and performance trends to drive strategic decisions.
+ Review Tire Units %, Service %, shop wage variance, EBITDA variance, NPS, and phone conversion.
+ Leverage data to shape priorities, investments, and performance improvement strategies.
+ Maintain rigorous planning routines through Store Game Plans, store visit documentation, and quarterly reviews.
+ Celebrate wins and address performance gaps decisively and constructively.
Financial & Business Management
+ Own operational performance across all stores, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
+ Minimize waste and ensure sound financial decisions across the region.
+ Oversee expense control practices and ensure stores operate efficiently.
+ Participate in physical inventory and ensure inventory integrity.
Communication & Cross-Functional Leadership
+ Act as the communication conduit between Support Center and frontline operations.
+ Clearly communicate company initiatives, priorities, and expectations to ensure alignment.
+ Encourage open dialogue, listen actively, and integrate feedback to drive continuous improvement.
+ Collaborate with HR, Training, Marketing, and Supply Chain to support regional needs.
Recruiting & Talent Pipeline Development
+ Maintain proper staffing across all locations.
+ Build a strong talent pipeline through proactive recruiting and partnership with HR.
+ Ensure leaders are continually developing team members to support succession plans.
Scheduling & Time Management
+ Work a minimum of 50 hours per week with at least 40 hours in-store.
+ Build biweekly schedules in four-week blocks to ensure operational predictability.
+ Maintain flexibility for evenings, weekends, travel, and overnight stays.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
+ 18 years of age
+ Valid driver's license
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
+ 5-7 years of multi-store leadership experience in retail or a related industry
+ Proven ability to lead large teams, drive financial performance, and deliver exceptional customer experiences
+ Strong communication, coaching, and decision-making skills
+ Financial acumen with the ability to interpret P&L statements and operational metrics
+ Proficiency in reporting tools, operational systems, and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field.
+ Experience in automotive or service-focused retail environments.
+ Strong background in talent development and multi-location operations.
Work EnvironmentThis position requires frequent travel across retail locations, including time spent in tire and automotive service environments. The role may require evenings, weekends, and overnight travel. Store visits involve exposure to shop environments, including noise, temperature variations, and physical activity, including lifting up to 75 pounds standing for extended periods.
Compensation
$165,000 - $180,000 (including salary and bonus)
