Job Title: Machine Builder

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Builder to join our dynamic team in constructing food manufacturing equipment. This role involves reading blueprints, building machines, and fabricating steel in a job shop environment. The successful candidate will utilize hand and power tools to install conveyor systems, gearboxes, motors, and perform electrical wiring.

Responsibilities

+ Travel 30-40% of the year for permanent assignments, with expenses covered.

+ Read and interpret blueprints to build food manufacturing equipment.

+ Utilize hand and power tools such as wrenches, sockets, drills, screwdrivers, saws, and air guns.

+ Fabricate steel and cut using a torch.

+ Install conveyor systems, gearboxes, motors, and perform electrical wiring on food manufacturing machines.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.

+ Mechanical assembly skills, including machine building.

+ Experience with hand tools and owning personal hand tools.

+ Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Valid driver's license.

+ Experience with welding.

+ Background in food processing equipment.

Work Environment

Work in a very clean job shop environment with a steady first shift schedule from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The facility spans 200,000 square feet and employs around 30 people. Dress code includes jeans, steel-toed boots, long sleeve shirt, and PPE.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Munster, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
