Job Title: Inventory Technician - 1st Shift

Job Description

The Inventory Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely inventory records across liquid, bulk, and bagged feed products. This role ensures precise tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of all inbound materials, in-process usage, and finished goods inventory. The technician monitors stock levels, investigates variances, and partners with mill operations, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure data integrity and alignment with production needs. A strong emphasis is placed on accuracy, accountability, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Through regular audits, reporting, and system updates, the Inventory Technician supports operational efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

+ Perform grain testing, including DON testing, dockage, moisture, bushel weight, and foreign material assessments.

+ Conduct manual addition of feed ingredients and accurately record medication and vitamin usage.

+ Develop a basic understanding of animal nutrition and ingredient interactions with milling and grinding processes.

+ Maintain cleanliness and perform routine housekeeping of the mill.

+ Perform general mechanical duties as needed.

+ Navigate and utilize Laserfiche, The System, and WEM as appropriate.

+ Maintain inventory accuracy of all bagged products.

+ Perform inventory reconciliation and maintain orderly bag inventories.

+ Complete required training in a timely manner.

+ Perform other duties as determined by supervisors.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in inventory management and Microsoft Office.

+ Ability to work independently and under supervision.

+ Understanding and adherence to Food Safety Standards – FSMA and SQF and State regulations.

+ Basic math skills and critical thinking.

+ Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.

+ Adaptability to change and promotion of teamwork.

+ Demonstrates safe behavior and ability to follow policies and procedures.

+ General mechanical ability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to lift up to 60 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance.

+ Capability to operate heavy machinery for items over 100 lbs.

+ Ability to climb ladders, work in high places, confined spaces, and dusty conditions.

+ Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Work Environment

The role requires working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, as monitoring grain in outdoor silos is part of the responsibilities. Candidates must be comfortable working in dusty environments and confined spaces, adhering to safety standards and procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rheems, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
