Special Education Teacher
Contract Length: 2025–2026 School Year
Start Date: ASAP-end of school year
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 paid hours per week
Setting: In-Person Only
Grade Levels: TK–8 (specific assignment discussed during interview)
Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher, under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, delivers high-quality educational services to students with special needs in grades TK through 8. This role requires active collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to plan and implement individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutoring, and consultation with general education staff.
Responsibilities
+ Provide instruction and support to students with special needs in accordance with IEPs.
+ Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to ensure inclusive practices.
+ Participate in planning meetings and contribute to program development.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all federal, state, and district regulations.
Minimum Requirements
+ Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Certification: Valid California teaching credential with Mild/Moderate authorization (CA M/M Credential required)
+ Experience: Minimum of one year in a teaching environment (preferred)
+ Additional Requirements:
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Endorsements:
+ Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1)
+ Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching Certifications
Compensation
+ Local Pay Rate: $60/hour (negotiable)
+ Travel Weekly Pay: $2,829 gross weekly
