Join Our Team at UPMC Hamot as a Full-Time Floor & Project Technician!

UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA is seeking a dedicated Floor & Project Technician to join our team. This full-time position offers a day shift schedule (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) with every other weekend and holiday rotation, giving you a consistent routine while supporting patient care.
In this role, you'll take pride in maintaining all types of floor surfaces throughout our facility-stripping and refinishing hard floors, shampooing carpets, and completing special projects that keep our hospital looking its best. While you'll often work independently, you'll also collaborate with a skilled crew on larger projects, ensuring variety and teamwork in your day.

Responsibilities:
+ Clean and sanitize after emergency spill clean-up requests.
+ Change Shampoo to Extracts.
+ Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, reporting all problems to the supervisor.
+ Shampoo assigned carpeted areas.
+ Maintain all assigned equipment; keep equipment clean and in good repair, report all problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
+ Comply with all Hospital/Department policies and procedures.
+ Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, reporting problems to the shift supervisor.
+ Remove all soil, wax, and sealer from assigned hard-surface floors.
+ Uses chemicals and solutions per department Tech Manual.
Required:
+ HS Diploma/GED OR 1 year previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED OR successful completion of the 5-week EVS training program.
+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties.
+ Ability to use all housekeeping equipment.
+ May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.
