Marketing Statement
The **Office of Equal Employment Opportunity (OEEO)** plays a critical role in ensuring Metro complies with all laws that prohibit discrimination and retaliation. The OEEO develops, administers, and monitors programs and policies that promote fair and equitable treatment for applicants, employees, and customers. This office routinely evaluates employment practices¿including hiring, promotion, training, and discipline¿to identify and eliminate barriers to successful employment, ensuring all employees and applicants receive equal treatment, regardless of their protected class status.
As an intern, you will directly contribute to the success of several OEEO programs by assisting in the creation of valuable resources and materials. Your responsibilities will include identifying patterns and issues, organizing information, and preparing training, policy, and compliance-monitoring materials that support the creation of three complementary resource hubs.
In particular, **English/Spanish bilingual skills are highly desired** to ensure effective communication and accessibility across diverse communities. Bilingual interns will play a key role in developing and tailoring resources for a wider audience, including translating or assisting in the creation of materials that serve both English and Spanish-speaking individuals.
You will collaborate with team members to gather information, manage content related to investigations and program functions, and develop new materials that meet the needs of the office. Additionally, you will assist in creating layouts, identifying information gaps, and developing visual and digital materials for an internal, customer-oriented resource hub. The intern may also observe investigative interviews, contribute to team discussions on a variety of OEEO issues, and assist in special projects.
This position offers a unique opportunity to support the OEEO's mission and gain experience in a variety of areas related to diversity, equity, and inclusion while helping build a more inclusive workplace for all.
