Lakeside Neurologic is interviewing for an Animal Caretaker . We are leaders in rehabilitation for brain and spinal cord injury, and behavioral health.
We are currently interviewing for the position of Animal Caretaker. Animal Caretaker’s are important team members at the facility. Team members are required to perform the following tasks:
The schedule for this position will vary. Work hours are from 9:30 am-6:00 pm, five days per week, typically including weekends, and must be flexible as duties expand. Work is primarily outdoors, which requires exposure to environmental conditions. Must be able to work in direct sun for periods of up to 3 hours. On feet all day, standing and walking from one area to another, exerting up to 200 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, and walking.
General Duties: The Animal Caretaker is responsible for providing all essential needs to small to mid-sized farm livestock, including chickens, pigs, and goats. Animal varieties will expand as warranted. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, feeding, watering, constructing/maintaining shelters, and other essential aspects of care, such as sustaining the animals' habitat and educating Lakeside residents about the animals. Must be knowledgeable of residents' abilities and be able to create job tasks that are purposeful and appropriate. May occasionally be required to supervise residents.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required an a minimum of one year of experience in animal care, livestock management, zookeeping, or related field. Must be a PCM Level II Practitioner and eligible for the Driver’s List.
