Job Title: Assembly Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Assembly Specialist to join our team on the 2nd shift from 2pm to 12:30am, Monday through Thursday. This role involves the assembly, modification, and installation of aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and structural assemblies according to customer requirements. Overtime work is expected on Fridays and possibly on Saturdays twice a month, offering a chance to complete tasks early and enjoy the weekend.
Responsibilities
+ Interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to assemble products that meet quality standards.
+ Gather and document data to facilitate assembly progress.
+ Set up and operate shop equipment such as drills, squeezes, and precision measuring tools.
+ Troubleshoot issues during the assembly process and propose process improvements.
+ Perform necessary rework or modifications during the assembly process.
+ Assemble major and minor components, including sub-assemblies and bench work.
+ Move and obtain the correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies.
Essential Skills
+ High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
+ 1-2 years of related experience or training.
+ Ability to interpret blueprints.
+ Strong verbal communication skills regarding work processes.
+ Competence in writing and recording process information.
+ Proficiency in time management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Six months of vocational training is preferred.
+ Experience with sheet metal and complex assembly.
+ 5 years of experience in complex assembly and structures.
+ Experience with companies such as Spirit, Boeing, Textron, or Cessna is preferred.
+ Ability to operate a forklift, drill press, floor-mounted rivet press, and overhead crane.

Work Environment
The work environment is climate-controlled, with exposure to vibration and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and chemicals. The noise level is typically loud. Employees are expected to wear steel toe boots while working full-time in this setting. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
