    In this role, the Director of Nursing,Primary Care will support high-quality, consistent, and efficient nursing practice across our 90 Primary Care (PC) locations, Urgent Care, ECCP, and Virtualist Program. A visionary and innovative leader, the Director of Nursing will lead a unified ambulatory nursing leadership team with the aims to:

     

    • Strengthen clinical oversight and nursing consistency & standards of practice and care

    • Integrate nursing mission, vision, strategy, functionality, and culture across primary care

    • Enhance nurse and medical assistant (MA) recruitment, education, retention, and sustainability

    • Support centralized functions to support care teams and patients

    • Build a pipeline for nurse leaders and educators

    • Unify nursing leadership in primary care role in alignment with BILHMG Executive Leadership

    • Evolve appropriate primary care disease-specific models of care in partnership with Quality & Safety and the BILH Performance Network

    • Scales a consistent onboarding program for nurses and medical assistants across primary care.

    • Prioritizes patient safety and experience as a central part of all initiatives

    Job Description:

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

    Primary Care

    • MA & Nurse Oversight

    o Monitor and establish the scope of practice for the nurses and medical assistants , while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

    o Develops appropriate practice workflows for nursing and nursing support roles

    o Participate in and support reviews of safety concerns and system-wide corrective actions

    o Evaluate and establish necessary clinical education & competency assessment

    o Collaborate with Recruitment and provides direction to talent acquisition team to establish appropriate onboarding programs for nursing.

    o Collaborates with Human Resources to develop retention programs to retain nurses and medical assistants.

    o Utilizing just culture concepts, address performance and behavioral concerns that may result in disciplinary actions

    o Partner with Leadership team to determine appropriate communication of relevant clinical nursing initiatives and support

    o Build an engaged nursing Community within a decentralized nursing population

    o Partner closely with operational and clinical leadership for alignment on key initiatives including but not limited to clinical quality, patient experience, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education: Requires knowledge of nursing practices, theories, management and research, basic statistics, and health-care legislation as normally acquired through completion of a Master’s degree in Nursing administration or closely related field in order to have full understanding of Nursing Services functions.

    • Licensure, Certification, Registration: Current Commonwealth of Massachusetts license to practice as a Registered Nurse required

    • Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: A high level of interpersonal skills necessary in order to provide effective leadership to nursing managers and staff and to effectively communicate with a wide variety of clinic staff and managers.

    • A high level of analytical skills necessary in order to develop and implement new nursing guidelines and procedures; determine needs for capital equipment, staff, expense and revenue budgets; and prepare special and recurring reports or analyses.

    • Experience: Approximately seven to ten years of progressively more responsible related work experience which includes the equivalence of five to seven years of supervisory and managerial experience, in order to effectively direct and manage activities of the nursing practice.

    Pay Range:

    $187,200.00 USD - $228,800.00 USD

     

    The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
