At GSI, you will do more than manage tax, you will help shape the future of a fast-growing organization. We are seeking a Tax Manager to lead our corporate tax function. This role will lead all tax accounting, compliance and strategy matters while driving process improvements. We need a professional who is equally comfortable developing strategic recommendations and getting into the details to implement them. The ideal candidate brings both strategic perspective and tactical discipline—adding rigor, consistency, and leadership to our tax processes in a dynamic, growing business.
Responsibilities
+ Define and communicate the strategic scope of internal and external tax services, aligning resources with organizational priorities and long-term objectives.
+ Drive tax planning and develop forward-looking tax strategies, positioning the organization for sustainable growth and regulatory compliance.
+ Lead tax strategy and integration for mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless incorporation of tax structures post-merger.
+ Manage external tax providers, fostering partnerships that deliver accurate, timely, and value-added compliance across all jurisdictions.
+ Evaluate and approve deliverables from third-party tax providers, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with corporate strategy and risk management goals.
+ Direct the tax accounting function, including ASC 740 provision calculations and reconciliations.
+ Lead all tax compliance matters at Federal, State and Local levels (including Sales and Use tax), ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting, and timely payment across all jurisdictions.
+ Design and implement a robust reporting framework and governance controls that proactively mitigate tax risk, strengthen compliance, and ensure consistency across all jurisdictions.
+ Champion process optimization initiatives, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of tax workflows.
+ Serve as strategic advisor to operations leadership, providing clear, actionable guidance on tax-related issues and questions.
What Success Looks Like
+ + Develop and monitor key tax metrics around compliance and efficiency.
+ Highly effective integration with external tax consultants to support on time and efficient tax activities.
+ Deliverables are reviewed, validated, and completed with minimal risk exposure.
+ Sales and use tax processes are streamlined and accurate.
+ Operations feel supported with clear, proactive tax guidance.
+ Documented process improvements drive measurable efficiency and compliance gains.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
+ CPA or Master’s in Tax preferred.
+ 4–8+ years of progressive tax experience, ideally with both public accounting and industry exposure.
+ Strong understanding of corporate income tax, multi-state sales/use tax, and ASC 740.
+ Experience managing outsourced tax providers or cross-functional partners.
+ Experience managing tax processes for multiple entities.
+ Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement sustainable solutions.
+ High intellectual curiosity, resilience, and results orientation.
This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule. Employees will be expected to work in the Westminster, CO office (https://maps.app.goo.gl/cBfTcyP14SJaSVVV8) 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
The expected base pay range for this position in the Denver, CO area is $125,000 - $150,000 Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
