    DESCRIPTION

    Anticipated Vacancy

     

    This is professional work supervising the activities of an Adult Protective Investigation Unit composed of Protective Investigators. The unit is responsible for investigating all reports of alleged abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

    EXAMPLES OF WORK

    Supervise protective investigators. Report assignment, consultation, and closure.

     

    Provides guidance regarding investigative activities such as emergency placement, casework, services, family/victim assessment, risk and service needs, court reports, recommendations, review/approval of activities of the investigative record and Florida Safe Families Network computer system.

     

    Staffs cases with investigators and offers on-going supervision.

     

    Serves as on-call supervisor on a rotating basis with other API Supervisors.

     

    Trains, coaches and mentors investigative staff.

     

    Completes field work when necessary

     

    Ensures standards are met timely.

     

    Evaluates staff performance and sets goals, informally and on an annual basis, or as required by personnel regulations.

     

    Completes administrative tasks including those relating to Human Resources.
