About this Job
This position takes a leadership role in the development of children and teen services in public libraries throughout the state, acting as a resource for public library staff in all areas of children and teen services.

Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in library science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association followed by three years of experience in library services.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ This position oversees the development of statewide children and teen programs, mainly the Louisiana Reader's Choice Program and the Summer Reading Program, working with advisory committees, taking a lead role in the assessment of services and collections and providing raining to public library staff.
+ This position acts as the State E-Rate Coordinator and is responsible for assisting libraries throughout the e-rate process and answers general technology, administrative, personnel, and Louisiana library laws questions along with other State Library consultants.
+ This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and credibility as information and services provided must be accurate, current, and above reproach.
+ This position travels extensively throughout the state representing the State Library in a number of vital venues.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This position is being filled as a probational appointment. Current permanent status state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment.
Work Schedule: This position is a full-time position that reports in-office at the State Library.
