    A little about the position:

    Job Summary

    The Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing both on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring robust backup strategies, timely operating system updates, and compliance with SOX reporting requirements. This role involves managing hardware, software, and firmware updates across the enterprise, while serving as a liaison between vendors, internal staff, and management to ensure smooth operations and adherence to security and compliance standards.

    Some of What You Will Do:

    + Backup & Recovery Management

    + Design, implement, and monitor backup solutions for on-prem and cloud environments.

    + Perform regular backup validation and disaster recovery testing.

    + Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.

    + System Updates & Patch Management

    + Schedule and deploy OS updates, security patches, and firmware upgrades across servers and endpoints.

    + Maintain version control and documentation for all updates.

    + Compliance & Reporting

    + Generate and maintain SOX compliance reports for IT systems.

    + Ensure adherence to internal and external audit requirements.

    + Adhere to Change Management policies and procedures

    + Vendor & Stakeholder Liaison

    + Collaborate with vendors for procurement, support, and issue resolution.

    + Communicate effectively with internal teams and management regarding system status, risks, and improvements.

     

    What You Bring to the Table: (Qualifications)

     

    + Applicants must have the ability to work in the US as Latham does not sponsor Visa’s

    + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

    + Experience:

    + 3+ years in systems engineering or IT infrastructure roles.

    + Hands-on experience with backup technologies (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Azure Backup).

    + Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux OS patching and update processes.

    + Familiarity with SOX compliance and audit practices.

    + Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory administration.

    + Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, and system management tasks.

    + Skills:

    + Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and virtualization technologies.

    + Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

    + Strong communication and vendor management skills.

     

    Preferred Certifications

     

    + Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

    + CompTIA Security

    + + ITIL Foundation

    Salary Range: $80,000-$105,000

     

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across US geographic markets. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
