    Overview

     

    The Lead Warehouse Associate will ensure the warehouses and back lot are maintained and operated in a safe, well-organized condition. The Lead Warehouse Associate will assist in training any new staff and volunteers who work in those areas. They also maintain a well-organized donation intake area by sorting and categorizing items for easy processing and movement of furniture and large household items to the holding area and/or sales floor as necessary. Assists with rotation of stock, stocking sales floor and maintaining a clean, well-organized and safe store environment.

     

    The Lead Warehouse Associate will assist in assuring that trucks are safe, inspected weekly and serviced in a timely manner and will create checklists for the proper running and safety of trucks and drivers. Assures that goods being moved to and from trucks are done in a proper and safe manner.

    Responsibilities

    + Supervises the daily operations of the warehouse and donation areas.

    + Inspects quality, cleans and/or performs minor repair to items as indicated before transporting to sales floor or processing area.

    + Responsible for maintaining the donation intake area in an efficient manner by keeping it safe, organized and properly stocked.

    + Responsible for refusing items in a tactful and courteous manner that do not meet our standards per the posted “Do Not Accept List”.

    + Responsible for inquiring from donor as to the condition of large household items, specifically electronics and appliances and labeling items as appropriate.

    + Responsible for directing large household items and furniture directly to the sales floor as appropriate to eliminate backlogs.

    + Bags excess clothing donations and transports to appropriate holding area to eliminate backlogs.

    + Responsible for the annex pricing.

    + Occasional loading and uploading of donated items.

    + Responsible bagging the fabric for Suncoast and disposing of metal in the bin for recycling.

    + Responsible for clean-up of garbage in the donation/annex area.

    + Maintains a clean, well-organized, safe warehouse environment by ensuring completion of daily safety checks.

    + Assures both warehouse and trucks have proper equipment to work safely and efficiently.

    + Supervises the daily operations of the truck schedules (Pickups and Deliveries).

    Qualifications

    + High School diploma or equivalent.

    + Previous work experience in warehouse environment as a stock person and/or thrift/consignment store experience.

    + Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred.

    + Exhibits critical thinking abilities and applies them for continuous improvement of services and Haven.

    + Demonstrates ability to think creatively, identify and make recommendations to Attic management.

    + Consistently demonstrates initiative and skills in planning and organizing work.

    + Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload and ensures that all projects are completed by deadlines.

    + Uses own knowledge and experience base and other resources as necessary to make logical decisions and solve problems.

    + Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

    + Must be a self-starter and have good organizational skills.
