**Austin Industries** has an outstanding opportunity for a ***Contractor Role*** as a **Network Engineer I** at our corporate headquarters in **Dallas, Texas.** This role focuses on managing and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure that encompasses on premises as well as cloud, ensuring network performance and security, and supporting various IT projects as a network engineering resource. It also concentrates on documenting the existing network, processes and procedures and helps find and fill the gaps found in those documents. This role does not include health, dental, or other employee benefits due to contracting status.
Responsibilities:
+ Review, update, create and maintain network related documentation
+ Maintaining computer networks including routers, switches, wireless access points and other physical hardware
+ Installing and configuring network equipment
+ Assist Cybersecurity team with Creating firewalls rules and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected if needed
+ Setup monitoring of network devices using SolarWinds to improve network performance for all systems
+ Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
+ Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of networking and network security best practices to offer the best network performance and protection to company systems
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
+ Experience with wireless controllers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, web filtering, network access control, and cloud security platforms is preferred.
+ Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex, multi-layered issues.
+ Excellent communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
+ Dependability, punctuality, customer service orientation, attention to detail.
+ Have strong attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple priorities under stress.
+ Able to prioritize tasks and projects effectively, with excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills to accomplish desired results.
+ Strong critical thinking skills and detailed oriented.
+ Exceptional customer service skills, with a strong focus on building and maintaining positive relationships internally and externally.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or similar
+ Candidates should have at least one year of experience in network or network security engineering with knowledge in enterprise network design, WAN connectivity, IPv4 subnetting, dynamic routing protocols, Cisco and Aruba device management, cloud network architecture, AWS or Azure, and network troubleshooting.
+ Valid Cisco CCNA/ CCNP or Aruba certification
+ This role may occasionally travel to remote job sites or office locations on an as-needed basis.
+ Physical requirements:
+ Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
+ Dexterity to handle small components and tools.
+ Prolong periods of sitting and working at a computer and standing and walking during job site or office visits.
