Purpose:
The Marketing Consultant role is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and ongoing support of Athene’s retail annuity marketing campaigns regarding industry leadership, including rankings, awards and innovation efforts across solutions, services and customer experience. This individual serves as the primary day-to-day contact, managing the full scope of the stakeholder relationship—from strategic consultation and planning to execution oversight and results reporting. They should be a self-starter with highly effective communication skills, with a strong understanding of the financial services industry, target audiences, and marketing/communication strategy approaches. This role should be data and results driven, constantly monitoring effectiveness of initiatives, and collaborating to optimize and improve campaign and program(s) ROI. This position will work cross functionally with marketing SMEs to define, build, execute and optimize our strategies, possessing the ability to rally project teams around a shared vision and driving alignment to meet stakeholder expectations.
Accountabilities:
+ Recommend, define, and build high-level marketing strategies, as well as a roadmap and promotional plans for assigned financial professional and contract owner activation initiatives, aligned to Athene’s retail sales and service objectives.
+ Act as primary liaison between Marketing and key business executives and stakeholders, providing day-to-day support and consultation using effective communication methods to help build understanding and ensure alignment between business priorities and marketing strategies.
+ Partner with industry organizations or committees to advance industry capabilities/initiatives and co-marketing efforts
+ Design and take final accountability of assigned campaign architecture and outcomes in collaboration with a core team of marketing SMEs.
+ Act as a central representative of Marketing’s diverse functions including content, search (paid and organic), email, web/portal, video, social, print, and webinars, bringing a holistic understanding of capabilities to ensure the right strategies and resources are applied.
+ Develop a strong understanding of ease of doing business and operational simplification initiatives and processes, communicating the story to various audiences that helps drive Athene’s retail business strategy.
+ Develop and maintain a deep understanding of financial professional and contract owner behavior, actively analyzing initiative results to develop recommendations for new strategies and enhancements to existing initiatives.
+ Continuously monitor KPIs and optimize marketing and service initiatives to ensure investment is delivering value/revenue
+ Manage and drive accountability to a framework where marketing receives regular feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience required.
+ Minimum of five years of experience in marketing, sales and/or related business experience.
+ Experience in the financial services and/or annuity industry is highly desired.
+ Proven understanding of marketing best practices with the ability to develop and optimize audience engagement strategies.
+ Demonstrated knowledge (or ability to rapidly develop) and an in-depth understanding of retail sales channels, audience needs, producer and client acquisition, and key moments of influence in the sales and service process.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to create and articulate business cases and rally team members around a common goal.
+ A highly analytical mind, with passion and experience in using audience analysis, data and insights to monitor and optimize marketing and service initiatives.
+ Ability to build rapport, collaborate and influence at multiple levels within an organization.
+ Strong project management disciplines. Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver results on time and on budget.
+ Highly effective problem resolution, analytical and organizational skills. Ability to identify and create strategic solutions and define a path forward in moments of ambiguity.
+ Eager to own the creation of a strategic vision and rally team members around a common goal.
+ Ability to travel occasionally – less than 5% of the time.
