Responsibilities:
General Purpose
The Student Conduct Coordinator reports to the Sr Conduct Officer and is a team member in the Student Conduct Office within the Office of the Dean of Students. The Student Conduct Coordinator plays a vital role in promoting a safe, respectful and welcoming campus environment by assisting the Sr. Conduct Officer in managing the student conduct process and student conduct cases. This role involves investigating reports of student misconduct, meeting with students involved in possible conduct violations, facilitating education and probationary sanctions, supports restorative practices, and collaborates with campus partners to uphold university policies and standards. This position is a live in position working closely with the residential living community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Case management
+ Receive, review and assign reports of student behavior that may violate university policy.
+ Help conduct prompt, equitable and impartial administrative investigation (or coordination with the Department of Public Safety) into complaints including identifying and interviewing parties and identifying, gathering and assessing information relevant to the investigation.
+ Schedule, coordinate and facilitate hearings and appeals for the Student Conduct Office.
+ Maintains accurate records of conduct cases, decisions and outcomes, ensures confidentiality and compliance with university and legal standards and educates others on privacy and confidentiality.
+ Provide support and education for all students involved in the conduct process.
+ Carries a regular caseload of all residential student conduct cases as well as University wide non-academic misconduct.
+ Assist Area Coordinators in the creation of restorative and appropriate sanctions, while also following up on student sanction completion across all cases, and implement formal conduct hearings for those sanctions
Residential Student Conduct
+ Works with the Alcohol and Other Drug Office to look at ways our campus can improve around better choices involving AOD.
+ Utilize and cultivate campus partnerships with University Counseling Center, Public Safety, Residential Life, Title IX Coordinator, CARE, and Office of Counsel to best educate and support all students regarding the conduct system.
+ Leads the Area Coordinators in Residential Life by training and improving the experience of the RA’s which in turn can help promote safer and more restorative communities.
Data and Assessment
+ Gathers information and data from all sources, primarily utilizing conduct-specific software.
+ Helps to assign Advocate day to day user rights and access management
+ Assist the Sr conduct officer in planning new efficient ways to gather relevant conduct data
+ Reviews nationwide data on conduct and community standard trends, evaluating what may be used to enhance University practices.
Campus connections
+ Develop and coordinate Student Conduct training for various campus partners in collaboration with Senior Conduct Officer.
+ Promote the Student Conduct Office through direct student, faculty and staff connections like tabling and campus wide presentations.
+ Member of the on-call duty rotation for River Camps residence Halls.
+ Live-in staff member

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of relevant experience required.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, or related field preferred.
Experience with implementing an equal and fair student conduct process at the University level, with emphasis on restorative justice preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
+ Excellent organization, time‐management, writing ability and interpersonal skills required.
+ Ability to relate to and work well with faculty, staff, students, and colleagues. Required
+ Commitment to a student‐centered approach; demonstrated ability to be sensitive to and understand the needs of students from underrepresented and diverse backgrounds. Required
+ A working knowledge of databases and data analysis is required.
