The (USA) Director, Data Science leads the development and deployment of advanced analytical models and data-driven strategies to support business objectives. This role oversees the design, testing, and validation of machine learning solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and data quality standards. The Director collaborates cross-functionally to translate complex business challenges into actionable insights, mentors technical teams, and drives innovation in data science practices. About the team:

The People Technology team drives the deployment and adoption of innovative people-focused technology across the enterprise, impacting millions globally. As part of Walmart Global Tech’s Enterprise Business Services, the team delivers robust solutions for Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience. The People.AI team specializes in developing AI and machine learning applications, including intelligent conversational interfaces that enhance associate productivity and engagement. This role involves building advanced AI-powered tools to improve communication, automate tasks, and provide personalized support, contributing to a more efficient and effective work environment aligned with Walmart’s strategic goals.

**What you'll do:** Lead the development and deployment of advanced data science models to address complex business challenges and drive strategic initiatives. Oversee data strategy formulation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and maximizing data asset value. Guide the team in selecting appropriate analytical methods, feature engineering, and model validation techniques to ensure robust solutions. Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business requirements into actionable data-driven insights and technology solutions. Mentor and develop data science talent, fostering continuous learning and innovation within the team. Communicate findings effectively to influence decision-making and support operational improvements. **What you'll bring:** Extensive experience in data science, machine learning algorithms, and advanced analytical modeling techniques. Proficiency in programming languages including Python, SQL, and Java for code development, testing, and deployment. Strong understanding of data strategy, data quality, and data governance principles to drive business value. Expertise in designing and validating models using statistical methods and performance metrics. Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable data-driven solutions aligned with organizational goals. Proven leadership in mentoring teams, managing projects, and fostering continuous improvement and innovation.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 6 years' experience in an analytics related field.

Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field.

Option 3: 8 years' experience in an analytics or related field
