Position Overview
The Continuous Improvement Technician is responsible for coordinating and administering continuous improvement efforts, recording and evaluating continuous improvement project results, and tracking improvement performance and cost reductions against targets. You may work closely with production associates, management, and process control team. This role supports the Continuous Improvement culture at the HPP plant through watching and understanding manufacturing processes, gaining insight from team members, as well as material delivery, order points, and staging then using this information to identify non-value add steps to drive improvement focus areas. This position will also gather data to help improve areas of improvement through projects and kaizen events that focus on flow, 5S, process waste reduction, and workload balancing.
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
• Process Cycle Time Observation and Breakdown (Watching and understanding Manufacturing Processes and Lineside Delivery/Order Points/Material Staging• Identify Value Add vs Non-Value Add in Processes (Finding steps in the process that are not adding value to the customer or ensuring compliance)• Identify Potential Improvements to Reduce Non-Value Add Activities (Share ideas to help remove non-value add steps in the process)• Support Kaizen Events and Continuous Improvement projects through data collection, simple analysis, and gathering operators’ feedback• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Two years of manufacturing experience
Additional Requirements
+ Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. + Physical Requirements (Ability to do the following up to 10 hours per shift):
+ Walk, stand, sit, bend, twist/turn, kneel, squat, crawl
+ Climb using both legs and arms
+ Head/neck movement
+ Reach outward or above the shoulder
+ Drive or operate equipment such as lifts and/or motor vehicles
+ Lift, carry, push, or pull 15-45 pounds
+ Repetitive use of hands and fingers
+ Use of vibrating tools
+ Depth perceptions required
+ Ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of color
+ Exposure to constant and intermittent noise, fumes, smoke and gases, solvents, paint, grease and oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces
