Summary: Materion is seeking a detail-oriented Technician II to join our rapidly growing Photolithography team within Precision Optics and Thin Film Coatings located in Westford and Tyngsboro, MA. An ideal candidate would be result focused who continuously learns, develop, improve, collaborate and communicates effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Independently perform the following functions, including but not limited to the following.
+ Follows procedures in operating production equipment and performing processing steps within designated department; accurately completes production documentation.
+ Practices safe work habits and adhere to Materion's safety procedures & guidelines
+ Detects and reports improper operation and/or faulty equipment, defective materials and when a process is not within its parameters. Participates in investigations.
+ Performs semi-routine equipment maintenance and upkeep
+ Works with process engineers to improve process(es) as requested.
+ Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area, equipment and areas where substrates and chemicals are prepared or stored
+ Records yields, efficiencies and all other data
+ Listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions from all levels of expertise.
+ Makes sound and well-informed decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions
Technical Skills
+ Intermediate understanding of Thin Film Coating
+ Intermediate understanding of Test Equipment
+ Experience with Mil-Specs for Optical Coatings
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or GED
5-7 years of related experience
Prior experience working in Optics Manufacturing environment
Ability to read and follow procedures as outlined in the individual process group
Ability to document results and maintain appropriate paperwork
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and/or equivalent to High School Math
Ability to perform basic Manufacturing/Quality measurement techniques and tools
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of manufacturing computer software, as well as an understanding of word processing software and general reporting software/programs, including basic knowledge of MS Office.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
