Utility Driver

Transdev is seeking a dedicated and reliable Utility Driver to join our team in supporting local transportation operations. As a key member of our team, you will drive vehicles between local sites, assist with vehicle maintenance, and ensure the safety and cleanliness of our facilities. This is a hands-on role that involves maintaining our fleet, handling maintenance tasks, and supporting various operational functions. Key Responsibilities:

+ Drives vehicles between local sites

+ Maintains building and grounds at the fixed route location. Performs maintenance to include (but not limited to) mopping, removal of trash, use of floor machine

+ Reports possible safety violations or issues to the safety and training manager

+ Responsible for outfitting fleet with documentation and/or equipment as directed by management

+ Reports any vehicle issues or leaks to the maintenance site

+ Places client fliers or rider alerts on vehicles as required

+ Drives, maneuvers, and parks vehicles. May include maneuvering vehicles through the wash bay

+ In instances of inclement weather, prepares the fixed route lot. Including (but not limited to) operating the snowplow and/or sander, placing ice melt, placing hazard signs

+ Responsible for delivery of any utilities related paperwork between the operations and maintenance sites

+ Reports any maintenance issues to supervisors or management

+ Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

+ MUST have Commercial Driver's License with a Passenger endorsement

+ High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required

+ Must possess a valid state driver’s license with a minimum of one year of driving experience and a good driving record

+ 1 year or more of janitorial or auto detailing experience preferred

+ Must be 21 years old

+ Good oral communication skills

+ Ability to read and follow written and spoken instructions

+ Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by Material Safety Data Sheets and all other safety training materials provided

+ Ability to learn shop processes including fueling vehicles and cleaning vehicles

+ Ability to mix and use a variety of cleaning products

+ Ability to use a variety of equipment such as buffers, scrubbing machines, and other heavy cleaning equipment

+ Strong attention to details

+ Travel requirement (as a percent): <5% for occasional meetings

Physical Demands:

+ Less than 10% of work is accomplished in doors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities

+ Greater than 90% of work is accomplished in an open garage facility.

+ Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

+ May be asked to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

+ May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, you have access to safety protective gear.

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

* Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-90% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.

* Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces

* Push and pull objects up to 75 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level

* Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
