    Associate Engineer. Performs a variety of engineering work including design, analysis, substantiation, certification, drawing interpretation and project management as related to transport category aircraft.

    What you will be responsible for:

    + Create step-by-step work instructions for the repairs and deviations of hardware and components as they relate to aircraft structures, systems, interiors and avionics.

    + Create engineering installations and repair drawings using AutoCAD or similar software programs.

    + Repair, design and analysis of metal, composite and metal-bond structures.

    + Translate guidance and engineering principles and procedures into usable working direction for assigned projects.

    + Gathers, coordinates and applies basic engineering data using established and appropriate or defined engineering principles and procedures.

    + Applies area of specialty to design, develop and implement creative and innovative solutions to difficult problems.

    + Reviews progress with management and recommends corrective action along with review of alternatives.

    + Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensure adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality.

    + Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

    + All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    What you will need to be successful in this role:

    + Understanding of standard engineering drawing convention.

    + Knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs – from Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations) as they apply to transport category aircraft.

    + Familiarity with the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process and the FAA Airworthiness Directive (AD) process and rules governing disposition.

    + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, preferably those created by Boeing, Airbus and Douglas and be familiar with the documents needed to routinely maintain commercial aircraft; Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), etc.

    + Ability to analyze Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) source documents (Service Bulletins, Service Letters, etc.) and make independent decisions based on analysis of available data regarding incorporation on Customer’s fleet.

    + Ability to quickly learn and adhere to Operator’s specific processes and procedures.

    + Project Management skills; multi-tasking.

    Compensation:

    The anticipated salary range for this position is $56,500 to $70,000 annually. This range reflects the base salary for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location. AAR offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision/life/and AD&D insurance, 401(k) savings plan with employer match, paid time off and holiday pay, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.
