**Position Title:** Immunology Commercial Strategy Analyst
**Position Type:** 6-month contract
**Pay rate:** $65-70 per hour
Join our client’s dynamic strategy team in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, supporting high-impact decision-making in a rapidly evolving biotechnology landscape. This contract role is ideal for those seeking hands-on experience on critical projects shaping portfolio strategy, competitive intelligence, and commercial outcomes in the therapeutics sector.
Core Responsibilities:
+ Conduct comprehensive competitive intelligence gathering; synthesize actionable insights to directly inform our client’s portfolio and go-to-market strategies in biotech.
+ Monitor and analyze emerging trends within the immunology & inflammation (I&I) space, with an emphasis on implications for Bay Area biotech market dynamics and our client’s growth priorities.
+ Lead and execute primary research with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare providers (HCPs), payers, and patients; leverage secondary sources including analyst reports, analogs, and healthcare claims data.
+ Contribute to the development and refinement of revenue models and market forecasts to support strategic investment, pipeline prioritization, and commercial decision-making.
+ Partner with strategy leadership on critical cross-functional initiatives – including portfolio optimization, indication selection, partner due diligence, clinical benchmarking, and external collaboration evaluation.
+ Prepare and deliver clear, compelling presentations and communication materials to influence internal executives (CxOs, Board of Directors) and external stakeholders (investors, potential partners).
+ Represent our client at key industry and scientific conferences, gaining exposure to top biotech innovators and thought leaders in the SF Bay Area ecosystem.
+ Collaborate closely with experienced internal leaders as well as leading external vendors and consultants.
Qualifications:
+ Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) with at least 2 years’ relevant life sciences strategy or market research experience, OR Bachelor’s/Master’s/MBA with 4+ years in life sciences business analysis, strategy consulting, equity research, investment banking, or venture capital.
+ Direct exposure to strategic functions within a pharma/biotech organization or a top-tier consulting/research firm; deep expertise in immunology and inflammation strongly preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability in market sizing, competitive landscape analysis, due diligence, and forecasting for therapeutics products.
+ Proven experience designing and executing market research studies, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies (interviews, surveys, data analysis).
+ Exceptional financial modeling, quantitative analysis, data visualization, and business storytelling skills; mastery of PowerPoint and Excel.
+ Strong project management capabilities, analytical rigor, and aptitude for cross-functional collaboration within fast-paced biotech environments.
+ Superior communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with proficiency in tailoring technical and strategic messaging for diverse audiences.
+ Self-starter mindset, comfort working independently, and ability to thrive in ambiguous, evolving project contexts.
+ Based in or able to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area; committed to on-site presence 5 days per week.
