    Day Shift

    General Summary

    Functions in a lead role, providing liaison between applicable scheduling staff and leaders. Serves as a resource for the scheduling staff. Provides assistance with scheduling coordination and clinical guidance in accordance with prioritizing patient care needs. Also performs the functions as a scheduler as needed.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    + Works collaboratively with scheduling leadership to provide support and guidance to scheduling staff; triaging clinical needs and patient acuity; ensure processes and standard work is followed by scheduling staff.

    + Serves as a clinical resource for scheduling team to assist with problem solving and guidance of workflows.

    + Able to coach the team and assess to ensure timely patient care needs are met, continuity of care is occurring and clinician's schedules are filled to capacity.

    + Assists scheduling leadership with data collection and reports as needed.

    + Provides support to the scheduling leadership with payroll entry and other administrative tasks as assigned.

    + Answers incoming calls via centralized phone queue with exceptional customer service skills. Manages the needs of each patient appropriately with the ability to triage patient needs using clinical knowledge.

    + Schedules appropriate appointment within established parameters by determining the needs of the patient.

    + Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages, and provides routine information to callers.

    + Conducts patient interview over phone to obtain accurate patient information. Understands patient insurance information and correctly enters that information into the EHR system.

    + Provides guidance and clinical support if needed at time of initial telephone contact with patients and schedules initial visit.

    + Provides referral information in the event the requested service or appointment is not available in an adequate timeframe. Able to use clinical skills to determine urgency of patients.

    + Prioritizes patient care needs from multitude of notifications as they come in, schedules initial visits and re-visits in order of patient acuity and urgency.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education:

    + Certificate Program Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training. Required

    Work Experience:

    + 1 year Experience in clinical setting. Required

    Licenses:

    + Licensed Practical Nurse Upon Hire Required or

    + Licensed Practical Nurse Multi State License Upon Hire Required or

    + Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant Upon Hire Required or

    + Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Upon Hire Required and

    + Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required

    Courses and Training:

    + Medical Terminology Upon Hire Required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Demonstrated clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

    + Analytical abilities.

    + Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, calculators and photocopier.

    + Community services and/or other physician support systems.

    + Knowledge of EPIC.

    + Knowledge of insurance.

    + Ability to plan according to patient needs, utilizing clinical problem solving approach.

    + Ability to work independently.
