Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations.     Job Overview and Responsibilities:

    The Manager – Tooling Planning is responsible for leading assistant managers, tooling planners and analysts to manage the forecast, planning, procurement and allocation of aircraft tooling systemwide. They will oversee the development of standard tooling requirements for each fleet type and mission and maintain list of non-standard tools requested by stations, to support tooling logistics systemwide while coordinating the movement of tools. They will work closely with the long-term planning manager to create robust data-driven allocation plans. They will maintain strong communication with station leaders and their toolrooms and with vendors to foster those relationships. They lead their assistant managers to contribute to continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives as they relate to aircraft tooling. They will also be responsible for preparing funding proposals throughout the year as needed, in particular the yearly tooling budget AFE.

     

    + Manages team members in the development of station level tooling allocations based on the mission of each location, providing the tools and guidance to efficiently and effectively perform their daily activities

    + Oversee Request for Quote (RFQ) to evaluate and negotiate price points / lead times and prioritization when working with external tool vendors and authorize purchases. Provide coverage and follow up for their team members as needed.

    + Ensure OSV and line maintenance start-ups are allocated required tooling and review surplus and spare tooling inventory on a continual basis. Act as a single point of contact for all tooling lease opportunities. Coordinate with lease requestor to establish appropriate pricing, documentation and tracking for the lease’s entire life cycle.

    + Support direct reports in their development and growth, ensuring that they have the resources and training to effectively fulfill their responsibilities, and removes roadblocks that hinder their effectiveness

    + Identifies, tracks and manages performance metrics to provide insights on successes and opportunities

    + Drive continuous improvement efforts to further improve and streamline processes and forecast/plan performances

    Qualifications

    What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

    + Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Aviation

    + Must be willing to travel 25-40%

    + 6+ years of experience in Aviation industry, Supply Chain and/or Data Analytics

    + Data analysis and visualization software (Foundry, Tableau, Spotfire or similar); SQL; Excel, Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma principles

    + 6+ years’ Experience leading small group of analysts or planners solving large-scale problem

    + Very strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

    + Understanding of forecasting, data structures, relationships, and efficient transformations

    + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

    + Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

    + Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

    + What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

    + Familiarity with aircraft tooling including procurement, calibration and planning aspects

    + Understanding of supply chain principles based on warehousing and inventorying practices

    + General knowledge and exposure to AI techniques in real world scenarios

    + Minimum 5 years tooling design, acquisition and calibration

    + Demonstrated experience in aircraft maintenance industry

    + Lean Six Sigma Certified Green Belt

     

    The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $129,924.00.

     

    The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
