TYLin is seeking a passionate Transportation Design Engineer to join our growing Detroit office. This is an exciting opportunity for an early to mid-career engineer—whether you’re a newly minted PE, or an EIT on track to earn licensure in the next year—to make a meaningful impact on high-visibility transit and transportation projects throughout the state.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to deliver infrastructure that improves safety, accessibility, and community connection. You will gain hands-on experience with:
+ **Roadway and highway geometric design**
+ **Site civil engineering** , including grading and drainage
+ **Utility design and coordination**
+ Supporting transportation and transit design packages for the **State of Michigan** , **MDOT** , and the **City of Detroit**
+ Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to bring projects from planning through design and delivery

What You Bring
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
+ **PE license** in Michigan _or_ the ability to obtain PE within one year (EITs encouraged to apply)
+ Experience in transportation, roadway, or site civil design
+ Working knowledge of design software (MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, etc.)
+ Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
