Job Description
Working closely with the Director of Career Engagement and Corporate Relations, the successful candidate will assist in the delivery and oversight of a comprehensive career exploration and coaching program that builds collaborative efforts across campus and that provides high-quality career education to the Texas A&M University-Kingsville community. Advises prospective and current students during all stages of career engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Advises and coaches students on career exploration, resume review, interview preparation, and other job search strategies.
+ Maintains confidentiality and keeps accurate, updated records following office procedures. Refers students to the Counseling Center when appropriate.
+ Assists with oversight of departmental processes and customer service delivery of the department. Remains abreast and has the ability to discuss current events taking place in the field of higher education and career development.
+ Prepares monthly and annual reports on student career development data.
+ Develops and coordinates career related educational programs for classes, student organizations, groups of prospective students, and others as appropriate.
+ Provides career support, workshops and presentations.
+ Maintains current knowledge base of labor market trends, occupational information, and the local, State, and National employer base.
+ Supervises, mentors, and evaluates student employees.

Minimum Requirements
Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience – Three years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of - Understanding of career development models and job search best practices. Knowledge of online career management platforms like Handshake, LinkedIn, and Indeed.
Skills - Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills. Capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines while also working effectively as a member of a team and engaging with campus partners.
Ability to - Ability to recruit, train, schedule, and supervise student employees. A strong orientation toward supporting student development, career readiness, and successful workforce integration.
Supervision of Others
This position generally supervises student employees.
