    Job Description:

    This position is currently funded through August 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension based on future funding allocations.

     

    The Director of TRIO Upward Bound (UB) provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the Upward Bound program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Upward Bound delivers comprehensive academic and support services to students in grades 9–12 at our partner high schools, with a specific focus on serving low-income, first-generation, and otherwise underserved populations. This position plays a key role in guiding and managing the grant administration process.

     

    The Director is also responsible for ensuring timely, accurate program reporting, including data collection, performance summaries, and the preparation of all required federal reports. In addition, the Director leads the development and submission of materials needed for grant renewal and continued program funding.

     

    **Salary Range:** $63,788- $92,373

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Three years of supervisory experience that includes: Experience developing and managing educational programs

    + Experience with programs serving underrepresented student populations, including first-generation, low-income, students of color, ESL students, and students with disabilities

    + Familiarity with data collection, analysis, and data-based decision-making

    + Ability to collaborate and establish positive rapport with students, staff, and the community at large to promote the goals of TRIO Upward Bound and HTC.

    Preferred Qualification

    + Master’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field

    + Training and/or experience in administering federally funded programs

    + Training on issues of poverty, equity, and access, and how they impact education

    + Experience overseeing program budgets

    + Familiarity with Minnesota State system and HTC programs, policies, and procedures

    + Experience overcoming educational barriers similar to those faced by TRIO students

    Other Requirements:

    The Director of Upward Bound works with all segments of the college, partner high schools, and the general public. A central role of this position is developing and maintaining external relationships to support student success. Communication occurs through in-person meetings, phone calls, written materials, electronic communication, and formal correspondence.
