The Finance Coordinator supports the financial operations of the College by performing a variety of accounting, reporting, and analytical functions. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations and reports, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with CUNY and College policies, as well as applicable regulations. This position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with departments across the College to ensure timely and accurate financial processing and reporting. The Finance Coordinator will be reporting to the Finance Manager.
Responsibilities:
+ Analyze and interpret financial data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
+ Record financial transactions in the College’s accounting system (CUNYfirst) in an accurate and timely manner.
+ Perform month-end, mid-year, and year-end financial closings and prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and reports.
+ Prepare and review account reconciliations; research and resolve discrepancies; and record appropriate journal entries.
+ Develop and maintain financial spreadsheets and reports to support analysis, forecasting, and management decision-making.
+ Prepare and reconcile reports related to fees, transfers, and other financial activities in accordance with CUNY schedules and requirements.
+ Assist in the preparation of bank reconciliations and related analyses.
+ Provide support during the annual financial audit, including documentation gathering and responding to auditor inquiries.
+ Assist in developing and implementing financial plans, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
+ Collaborate with departments and administrative units to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and resolution of accounting issues.
+ Monitor financial systems and operations to ensure compliance, accuracy, and effective workflow.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Two years of related experience performing accounting or financial analysis work.
+ Experience in higher education or a public-sector financial environment.
+ Familiarity with CUNYfirst or other enterprise-level financial systems.
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$59,444- $72,236; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
