Under the direction of the Bursar Director, the BOSS TAP Coordinator's primary role is to provide customer service to students regarding inquiries about their Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) eligibility and related financial account matters. The position involves clerical, administrative, and student support responsibilities that contribute to the efficient operation of the College and compliance with TAP guidelines. The TAP Coordinator will respond to student inquiries about TAP, Part-Time TAP, and related eligibility rules while adhering to FERPA guidelines.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview responsibilities include:
+ Assist with data entry and updates in CUNYfirst and FACTS systems related to TAP eligibility and certification.
+ Enter and maintain departmental records related to TAP certification, student eligibility, and award status
+ Provide guidance to students, parents and staff regarding account and TAP related matters.
+ Collect and compile data, code information for entry, run system reports, and support TAP reconciliation processes.
+ Serve as a resource to BOSS staff regarding TAP-related student referrals, clarifying policies and procedures, while providing payment options to customers.
+ Collaborate with Financial Aid, and Registrar to reconcile student data.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with PeopleSoft (CUNYFirst).
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite i.e., Excel, Word etc.
+ Strong familiarity with TAP, HESC, and State Aid.
+ Cash handling comfortability.
+ Familiarity with TAP, HESC and State Aid
+ Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Coordinates financial aid procedures and activities and provides financial aid information.
- Schedules workshops, reviews applications, establishes pay cycles, disburses funds and resolves disbursement problems, and records awards, disbursements and returns
- Coordinates, verifies and resolves problems regarding the disbursement of scholarships and grants by verifying student eligibility, establishing pay cycles and reviewing pay-outs
- Reconciles accounting and disbursement schedules
- Provides data for financial aid and donor reports as needed
- Supports the College's enrollment management efforts by providing financial aid information to prospective students, their families and their high school counselors
- Serves as liaison between the college and direct loan providers
- Performs related duties as assigned.
