Position Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating end-to-end shipping operations—documentation, carrier selection, and inbound scheduling—to deliver on-time, compliant, and cost-effective shipments. Coordinates the shipping of goods in accordance with logistical schedules and expectations of customers.
Responsibilities:
+ Perform a variety of shipping duties of moderate scope and complexity in a fast-paced environment; primary responsibility is Shipping (flexible hours may be required).
+ Compile and maintain necessary shipping records, freight logs, and other various warehouse documentation.
+ Shipping – Primary role completion is of the necessary paperwork and shipping records.
+ Prepare packaging per customer requirements for shipment including generating necessary labels, forms, and shipping records.
+ Utilize customer portals to complete shipping requirements and use the system for lowest cost carriers for prepaid and collect shipments. Schedule inbound truckloads for raw materials; coordinate delivery appointments.
+ Daily processing of domestic and international packages including Ground, Air, Ocean, and Truckload/LTL orders.
+ Prepare air bills, bills of lading and sales order forms for the carrier and company records.
+ Contact carriers to dispatch outbound loads and coordinate incoming shipments; perform tracing and follow-ups; ensure all export requirements are met before shipment.
Qualifications:
Ability to work overtime hours as required by business need.
Education and Experience:
+ Associate degree in business, or a related field preferred.
+ Minimum of 3-5 years in a logistics/customer service/distribution role, with manufacturing experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, work orders, pick lists, and short correspondence, and communicate with team members to share information, solve problems, and provide training.
+ Excellent oral/written communication and basic math skills; strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization; able to manage multiple tasks under pressure; proficient in Microsoft Office; customer ‑ focused.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time. The position may require lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 30 lbs. The team member is occasionally required to reach above the shoulders, and lift and/or move 30 to 50 lbs.
