    Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

    Job Description

    In this role, you will provide day-to-day technical expertise for blown film extrusion operations, taking ownership of process challenges and driving continuous improvement in technology, capacity, reliability, throughput, quality, yields, manufacturing costs, and safety. You will lead the implementation of new processes and capital projects, support project scope development, commissioning, start-up, and training, and standardize processes while documenting design and line capabilities. Additional responsibilities include developing and documenting validation protocols for food and medical applications, providing technical leadership for new or revised product introductions, and collaborating with R&D, sales, quality, and operations teams to conduct trials and scale-ups. You will also assist operations and maintenance with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions, respond to process issues to minimize manufacturing impact, and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, best practices, and safety protocols. A strong presence on the shop floor and leadership in safety are essential.

    Responsibilities

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field)

    + Minimum 5 years of experience in a process or production environment (blown film extrusion or plastics processing preferred)

    + Six Sigma and LEAN training

    + Experience with process automation and control systems (PLCs, instrumentation, data historians)

    + Ability to read and interpret engineering documents

    + Ability to use data to drive improvements in OEE, capacity, cycle time, yield, cost, and quality

    + Strong project management, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

    + Self-motivated, able to work independently, and committed to ongoing professional development

    Work Environment

    The work environment is dynamic, involving collaboration with R&D, sales, quality, and operations teams. You will be required to maintain a strong presence on the shop floor and demonstrate leadership in safety practices. The role involves using advanced technologies, including PLCs and process automation systems, to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. The position demands adherence to safety protocols and best practices, with a focus on ensuring high standards in technology and process innovation.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Pleasant Prairie, WI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
