Description

Performs duties related to the operation of heavy equipment in support of production including de-watering, materials delivery, maintaining berms, and surface maintenance.

+ Operates heavy equipment which may include but is not limited to: haul trucks, water trucks, rubber tire dozers, motor graders and front-end loaders

+ Receives training, mentoring, and feedback from other operators, supervisors, and equipment trainers

+ Must complete required task training on various support equipment

+ Responsible for understanding changes to assigned work areas and any potential hazards

+ Responsible for knowing the following procedures: start-up and shut-down, parking, mounting and dismounting, Lock-Out Tag-Out Try-Out (LOTOTO), emergency, fire, working with ground personnel, and Blue Stake

+ Communicates through computer dispatch system or two-way radio

+ Performs pre-shift inspection of equipment

+ May perform minor maintenance & operations support activities

+ Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

+ Three (3) months experience in one of the following areas:

+ Mining/Manufacturing

+ Industrial Operations

+ Commercial Construction

+ Commercial Landscaping

+ Commercial Agriculture

+ Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English

+ Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures and applicable safety standards

+ Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

Preferred

+ High School Diploma or GED

Criteria/ Conditions

+ Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English

+ Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

+ Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

+ Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and, as needed: respirator, rubber steel-toed boots, gloves, fall protection, protective clothing, goggles, face shield and other protective equipment as required

+ Employee may be required to work in environments that may include exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, noise, fumes, and gasses

+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on uneven work surfaces and work on elevated platforms

+ Frequently may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the work day

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently  **$20.00 - $26.50/hour.** This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
