    Job Title: SMT Machine Operator

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled SMT Machine Operator who will be responsible for operating SMT machines and inspecting the products they produce according to IPC-A-610 & J-STD-001 standards. The role involves maintaining and aligning solder paste stencils, applying solder paste evenly and consistently, and controlling SMT components in a pick and place machine. The operator will also verify component positioning, values, and polarity, and visually inspect assemblies for solder quality, component placement accuracy, missing parts, and other potential errors.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate SMT machines and inspect products to IPC-A-610 & J-STD-001 standards.

    + Maintain and align solder paste stencils.

    + Apply solder paste evenly and consistently across screen prints.

    + Control SMT components in a pick and place machine.

    + Verify component positioning, values, and polarity.

    + Visually inspect assemblies for solder quality and component placement accuracy.

    + Identify and rectify missing parts and other potential errors.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience operating SMT pick and place machines.

    + Familiarity with SMT machine operation and troubleshooting.

    + Knowledge of surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole technology.

    + Proficiency in soldering and circuit board assembly.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + At least 1 year of experience with SMT machines, 2 years preferred.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment includes two shifts: 1st shift from 6:30am to 3:00pm, and 2nd shift from 2:45pm to 11:15pm. The facility is equipped with advanced SMT machines and tools necessary for efficient operation. Employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis Park, MN.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
