Now hiring a Controls Technician in Carlisle, PA

Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the control system reliability of automated production equipment. When production system performance falls below acceptable levels, the technician will support troubleshooting efforts to minimize interruptions. A successful candidate will have a keen eye for details, an electrical aptitude, and be comfortable with computers and industrial controls software. Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs and the ability to troubleshoot inputs and outputs is crucial.

Shift: 3rd shift 11pm-7:30am

Pay Rate: $38.95/hour to start

Responsibilities

+ Lead troubleshooting efforts for electrical and automation issues during assigned shifts.

+ Assist other electrical and mechanical technicians with preventative maintenance, breakdowns, and miscellaneous work orders.

+ Install, configure, maintain, or replace industrial control devices such as HMIs, VFDs, and PLCs.

+ Respond to significant plant downtime events and initiate problem-solving activities.

+ Support the implementation and improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

+ Assist with new equipment installation and startup processes.

+ Select and procure replacement or upgraded hardware.

+ Perform calibration of electrical control components as needed.

+ Collaborate with controls engineering on controls-related projects.

+ Evaluate electrical equipment operation and suggest necessary actions for malfunctions or improvements.

+ Complete preventive maintenance work orders and capture and communicate associated data.

+ Maintain plant electrical control systems on equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, and pumps.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to troubleshoot using electrical diagrams or schematics.

+ Experience in electrically troubleshooting equipment or machinery.

+ Proficiency in control wiring and PLC troubleshooting.

+ Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs and electrical systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $77397.00 - $83637.00/yr.

There are multiple grades for the role and candidates can progress through work hours completed and pay will increase accordingly.
