Job Description

As a cook, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality meals in a hospital setting. Your responsibilities include accurately and efficiently preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods—Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events. You will ensure all dishes meet established standards for taste, presentation, and safety while adhering to hospital dietary guidelines and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare meals in their entirety with strict recipe compliance, ensuring high culinary standards.

+ Demonstrate grill and food preparation expertise.

+ Accurately portion ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications.

+ Cook and present meals with attention to quality, consistency, and timeliness.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all food safety and hygiene protocols.

+ Support special events and catering needs as required.

+ Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Essential Skills

+ Back-of-the-house experience and strong culinary skills.

+ Proficiency in reading and following recipes.

+ Grill and food preparation experience.

+ Understanding of food safety standards and proper handling procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous experience in a professional kitchen preferred.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Work Environment

Work in a hospital environment requiring a food handler's card. Dress code includes non-slip shoes, a black polo shirt, and black pants. Embrace a structured yet dynamic setting where attention to detail is paramount.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tyler, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
