Job Description

Ensuring personal safety and the safety of co-workers is a fundamental value and the top priority in this role. The Packer is responsible for visually inspecting products, identifying non-conformities, and packing quality products into boxes according to customer specifications and quality guidelines.

**Shift:** 12-hour rotating shift 6:45 pm to 7 am

2-2-3 schedule - every other weekend off

Responsibilities

+ Inspect products visually and identify any non-conforming items.

+ Pack products into boxes following customer specifications and quality guidelines.

+ Dispose of non-conforming products into scrap bins immediately.

+ Read travelers and verify label accuracy.

+ Prepare packaging following traveler instructions.

+ Perform repetitive hand motion tasks.

+ Communicate quality concerns with the necessary personnel.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work station.

+ Read travelers and complete necessary paperwork.

+ Pack lids or containers from any assigned machine.

+ Identify and gather necessary supplies daily.

+ Report safety concerns or issues to the Group Leader.

+ Address and resolve food safety issues within the scope of work.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in packing, production, and packaging tasks.

+ Experience with RF scanners and material handling.

+ Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.

+ Experience in loading, unloading, and order picking.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to lift 35 pounds overhead.

+ Capability to walk or stand for 12 hours per day.

Work Environment

The work environment involves proximity to moving mechanical parts, requiring Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, ear plugs, bump caps, beard/hair nets, and steel-toed shoes. The role follows a 12-hour rotating schedule with shifts from 6:45 pm to 7 am, using a 2-2-3 schedule that offers every other weekend off.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valdosta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr.
