Description We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Staff member to join our team in Pismo Beach, California. In this role, you will support the preparation, compliance, and analysis of tax-related matters for a variety of clients, including individuals and businesses. This position is ideal for early-career candidates seeking to enhance their expertise in tax laws, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance while working in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.

• Ensure all tax filings comply with applicable regulations and meet strict deadlines.

• Assist in reviewing and analyzing client data to support accurate tax reporting.

• Communicate with clients to collect essential information and provide updates on tax filing progress.

• Collaborate with senior tax staff to address client inquiries and resolve basic tax issues.

• Participate in training sessions to stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations.

• Develop technical skills by working on a variety of tax cases and scenarios.

• Utilize tax and accounting software, such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, for efficient data management.

• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail during peak tax periods. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; candidates working toward certifications like CPA preferred.

• Proficiency in using accounting tools and tax software, including QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, tax codes, and regulatory guidelines.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and team members effectively.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in tax preparation and reporting.

• Internship or prior academic experience in taxation is a plus.

• Entry-level role suitable for recent graduates or professionals beginning their career in tax accounting.
