Description

We are looking for an experienced *NY Barred* Trusts & Estates Attorney with a strong background in estate planning and administration to join our team fully on-site in Garden City, New York. This Contract position offers an opportunity to work on a variety of estate-related legal matters, including drafting complex documents, conducting research, and advising clients on trust and estate issues. Responsibilities:

• Draft a wide range of estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, grantor trusts, and charitable trusts.

• Manage all aspects of estate administration, including filing petitions, preparing estate tax returns, and overseeing distributions.

• Conduct client consultations to develop estate plans and oversee will executions.

• Provide guidance to trustees, beneficiaries, and personal representatives on probate and trust administration processes.

• Research and analyze intricate estate and gift tax matters to provide accurate legal advice.

• Represent clients in estate-related disputes and miscellaneous proceedings.

• Handle will contests, accountings, and other legal matters related to estate administration.

• Develop and maintain estate accounts and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure seamless execution of trust and estate plans.

Requirements

• Must be an admitted New York State Attorney with at least 3 years of experience in estate law.

• Proficient in drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

• Strong knowledge of estate planning, estate administration, and fiduciary tax laws.

• Demonstrated expertise in civil litigation related to trust and estate matters.

• Ability to conduct detailed legal research on estate and gift tax issues.

• Experience advising clients and managing disputes in trust and estate administration.

• Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex legal processes effectively.
