    Responsibilities

    **Job:** Maintenance Technician Level 3 Electrode

    **Shift:** 7PM-7AM Nights, D-Shift (Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Every Other Wednesday)

    Job Summary:

    The Maintenance Technician – Level 3 is a multi-craft role responsible for moderately complex repair and maintenance of production equipment and mechanical systems. This position diagnoses, troubleshoots, tests, and repairs equipment failures to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. The technician completes preventive maintenance to keep machinery and mechanical equipment in good working order. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and collaboration with operations and maintenance teams.

    Essential Duties:

    Functional Operations:

    + Ensures operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines

    + Follows diagrams, sketches, manuals, and specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions

    + Removes defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools, inspecting form, function, and condition

    + Adjusts functional parts and control instruments using precision tools (hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, straightedges)

    + Operates and maintains tools and equipment in assigned areas

    + Capable of working all scheduled shifts

    Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement:

    + Locates sources of mechanical problems by observing devices, listening for issues, and using precision instruments

    + Performs moderate electrical or mechanical troubleshooting on non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment

    + Reads assembly, electrical, and hydraulic prints, as well as mechanical parts drawings

    + Determines dimensional changes in parts using calipers, micrometers, and measuring instruments

    + Controls downtime by advising production workers on preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance

    + Provides mechanical maintenance information by responding to questions and requests

    + Documents and communicates actions, irregularities, and continuing needs among work teams

    Training & Team Support:

    + Able to train others at the same or lower level

    Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication:

    + Collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve issues promptly

    + Supports implementation of industry-standard compliant processes and procedures

    Quality, Safety, & Compliance:

    + Maintains accurate records of completed work, including After Action Reviews (AAR)

    + Ensures compliance with all safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and company quality policies

    + Follows 6S workplace organization standards and maintains a clean, safe, and well-organized work area

    + Adheres to all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

    + To ensure health and safety in the workplace and for employee protection, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. A respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    + **Required:** High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or 2 years of prior experience in functional area

    + **Preferred:** Associate degree or higher in a technical field (e.g., Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology)

    Essential Qualifications:

    + 2+ years of relevant maintenance or technical work experience

    + Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment and learn new tools and concepts quickly

    + Successful completion of Ramsay mechanical or electrical aptitude assessment

    + Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

    + Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform standard calculations

    + Ability to learn and understand the organization’s production equipment and processes

    + Adaptable, collaborative, and communicative team player with strong problem-solving skills

    + Willingness to receive guidance and contribute to a team-oriented culture

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + 4+ years of relevant maintenance or technical work experience

    + Completion of PECNA Maintenance Apprenticeship Program

    + Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment

    + Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) training and experience

    + Resilient, self-motivated, and able to perform effectively under pressure

    Preferred License(s):

    + None

    Preferred Certification(s):

    + Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

    + Journeyman Certification

    + PECNA approved Technical Training

    Physical Demands:

    **Physical Activities:** Percentage of time (equaling 100%) during the normal workday the employee is required to:

    + Sit: 10%

    + Walk: 30%

    + Stand: 50%

    + Lift: 10%

    **Required Lifting and Carrying:** _Not required (0%), Occasional (1-33%), Frequent (34-66%), Continuous (67-100%)_

    For this position, the required frequency is:

    + Up to 10 lbs.: Occasional

    + Up to 20 lbs.: Occasional

    + Up to 35 lbs.: Occasional

    + Team-lift only (over 35 lbs.): Occasional
