Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes, ultimately supporting our mission to provide exceptional care to our patients and ensure timely and complete payments to our Practice. This position prepares and submits claims to insurance companies for medical services provided to patients.
+ Complete daily tasks of billing such as sending out claims, following up with carriers, and collecting patient payments.
+ Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve any billing discrepancies or issues.
+ Ensure patients’ medical information and billing is accurate and up to date.
+ Submit accurate primary & secondary insurance claims to insurance providers following agency and payer guidelines.
+ Perform accurate Time of Billing adjustments for clinic and surgical encounters based on the appropriate contract.
+ Post charges and ensure completion of claims to payers in a timely fashion.
+ Knowledge of multiple insurance contracts, Medicare, and W/C Fee Schedule.
+ Answer patient phone calls and reviews patient statements.
+ Meet monthly collection goals.
+ Meet monthly AR timeliness goals.
+ Participates in other revenue cycle functions as needed.
+ Maintain patient confidentiality.
+ Pull reports and manage worklists.
Qualifications
Education Required:
+ High school graduate or equivalent
Experience Required:
+ Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in insurance collections
+ Direct experience with patient and insurance collections
+ Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
+ Billing knowledge and experience in ____specialty preferred
Preferred Skills:
+ Knowledge of computers, faxes, printers, and all other equipment.
+ Proficient in MS Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Forms, Access, and Power Point).
+ Ability to deal with responsibility with confidential matters.
+ Ability to work in a multi-task, high-stress environment.
USD $23.00/Hr. USD $28.00/Hr.
