Job Description
As a Buyer, you will manage the inbound supply chain and supplier base for a diverse range of ingredients and raw materials, including tea, coffee, botanicals, and other categories as assigned. You will negotiate contracts involving volume, price, payment terms, lead times, and other commercial considerations to maintain the company's competitive edge. Your role will involve identifying and delivering cost reduction opportunities, improving cash conversion, and protecting against cost increases in volatile markets. You will develop and execute regional and global sourcing strategies, serve as an internal consultant to various stakeholders, and maintain accurate sourcing data within company systems.
Responsibilities
+ Manage the inbound supply chain and supplier base for various ingredients and raw materials.
+ Negotiate volume, price, payment terms, lead times, and other commercial considerations for assigned categories.
+ Maintain the company's competitive advantages by negotiating contracts and ensuring optimal supplier performance.
+ Identify, document, and deliver year-over-year cost reduction opportunities.
+ Improve cash conversion by extending vendor payment terms, reducing inventory, and optimizing spend.
+ Identify opportunities for cost avoidance and protection in inflationary and volatile markets.
+ Develop and execute regional and global sourcing strategies for assigned spend categories.
+ Maintain expertise on regional and global market conditions and act as an internal consultant to various stakeholders.
+ Support the company's growth by scouting new ingredients, attending industry events, and managing large projects.
+ Maintain accurate sourcing data concerning price, volatility, supplier records, and market data within company systems.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in SAP.
+ Effective written and verbal business communication.
+ Prioritization and time management abilities.
+ Budget management and understanding of sourcing's role in company financial performance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Agricultural Sciences, or a relevant field.
+ 5 years of experience in a procurement or supply chain management role, ideally in food manufacturing.
+ 3 years of experience leading regional and global cross-functional projects focused on business growth.
+ Experience in buying specialty ingredient markets, such as botanicals.

This is a Contract position based out of Princeton, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
