The main purpose and function of the Maintenance person is to ensure the equipment is maintained to the highest level to allow for maximum operation when needed, maintaining plant and machinery in good, safe, and working order.
Specific responsibilities may include:
+ Repair, adjust, and replace plant equipment.
+ Ensure operating availability of plant and equipment.
+ Maintain a safe, clean environmentally sound work area for all employees.
+ Interact with other maintenance and production personnel.
+ Responsible for reporting safety, quality, environmental, and equipment concerns to supervisor.
+ Provide cost effective solutions to mechanical problems.
+ Responsible for supplies, tools and equipment.
+ Cross train in all positions within the plant.
+ Specific responsibilities may include Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to conform to API Specification Q1, 9th Edition requirements by complying with the Quality Policy, procedures, and meeting QMS objectives.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and training:
+ General Plant experience preferred but will train.
Experience:
+ Three (3) to six (6) months of General Plant experience preferred.
+ General mechanical experience preferred.
+ Experience working in an API Specification Q1, 9th Edition environment a plus.
Knowledge and Skills:
+ Understanding of all milling and drying equipment.
+ Basic math and reading skills.
+ Mechanical and fabricating aptitude
+ Ability to recognize changes that affect operation of equipment and the ability to correct problems.
+ Peer-to-peer and employee-to-supervisor communication skills and interpersonal skills
Physical and Safety Requirements:

+ Rotating shift work.
+ Frequently work alone.
+ Subject to dust and noise.
+ Must operate in variable weather and temperature, occasionally under extremely slick conditions.
+ Frequently work in elevated places and often work with mechanical and/or electrical hazards.
+ Frequently work around machinery and mobile equipment.
+ Frequent climbing of ladders, and stairs.
+ Ability to work at heights.
+ Sitting, bending, standing, walking, 8-10 hours per day.
+ Frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
+ Must comply with any safety or PPE requirements.

+ Self-starter who thinks of innovative, faster ways to accomplish tasks.
