    When will I work?

     

    + The primary work hours for this position are 6:00am to 6:00pm, Thursday through Saturday, with overtime required as needed.

    Position located in Redwood Falls, Minnesota i n our Electronic Assembly department.

     

    What will the work look like for me?

     

    + Core responsibilities of a Production Team Lead (PTL) are to be in strong alignment with Daktronics’ core values, integrity, and trust, dealing with ambiguity, listening, composure, self-reflection, and self-development.  Be a champion of positivity.

    + The PTL position provides consistent opportunities to develop leadership skills. PTLs should possess a passion for helping others grow and succeed.

    Areas of Focus:

    + People Development:

    + Develop your team through coaching to standards such as phase training standards, Daktronics 7 dimensions.

    + Employee training: Become capable of training in the areas you oversee to ensure all employees are trained to work in any work cell your supervisor assigns them to. Engage with the training team to ensure that phase training standards are followed.

    + Maintain strict confidentiality of information associated with people development.

    + Running the Business:

    + Maintain a safe work environment by performing safety audits, BBS activity, and addressing hazards that arise through problem solving.

    + Follow standard work per supervisor standards.

    + Manage hourly execution goals by taking action through using critical thinking problem solving skills to achieve hourly cycle time goals.

    + Learn and follow consistently work cell health checks to be meeting supervisor expectations.

    + Auditing operator standard work, sequencing, work cell health on an hourly basis.

    + Meet customer demand by executing schedule attainment by monitoring hourly and daily goals in hour to hour tracking charts and adhering to standards for filling them out.

    + Maintain daily production by utilizing the escalation process for issues that arise.

    + Ensure product is built to meet quality specifications.

    + Maintaining 100 percent leadership floor coverage.

    + Improving the Business:

    + Lead, coach, and actively participate in daily problem solving in the pursuit of continuous improvement.

    + Lead tier 1 and drive improvement activity at tier 1.

    + Attend tier 2 and participate to help drive continuous improvement activity. Come prepared to speak to biggest impactors for your line.

    + Identify gaps in training and recommend training improvements to the training team and your supervisor.

    + Identify issues that are within your control that are impacting hourly performance and take action to solve problems. If outside of your control, follow escalation process to get help needed in the moment.

    + General Expectations:

    + Consistently model Daktronics high-performing leader and team behaviors. Positively influence to further Daktronics culture and success.  Display servant leadership in your leadership style in how you interact with people. The expectation is to treat others the way you want to be treated.

    + Be at work on time, at 7:30 AM to learn and be prepared for engagement at tier 2 and maintain good attendance. Work overtime as needed.

    + Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet customer and department expectations.

    + Fill in for Supervisor as needed.

    + Follow leader guidance. When a need to help the team is identified by the supervisor and they ask you to help, the expectation is to do what you are being asked to do from your supervisor to help the team even if it is different than your standard duties.

     

    Lead by example following the 7 dimensions and demonstrate Daktronics’ core values in your leadership being helpful, honest, and humble.

     

    What are the pay and perks?

     

    The typical hiring range for this position is $23.00 to $23.75 per hour based on the location of Redwood Falls, MN with a $2.00 Leader increment included.  The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

    Qualifications

    To be considered for Electronic Assembly Production Team Lead, we require the following:

    + High School Diploma/GED required.

    + Demonstrated leadership ability required.

    + Ability to coach operators in areas needed.

    + Ability to train and motivate employees.

    + Computer skills, especially control systems software, Glovia, and Excel are sought. Effective keyboard skills preferred.

    + Good technical writing and verbal communication skills required.

    + Physical requirements include the ability to:

    + Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder.

    + Frequently lift 35 lbs. Occasionally to frequently lift 45 lbs., in some work areas.

    + Stand for the full shift with planned breaks. The duration of standing between breaks varies from 2-3 ½ hours depending on work area.

    + Work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.

    + Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including some awkward reaching to insert components in difficult to reach sections of the product.

    + Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.

    + Identify wire and paint colors.

    + Read fine print.

    + Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status. Motor vehicle records will be checked.

    + Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

    + Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

    + Daktronics does not sponsor, renew, or extend immigration visas for this position.
