The opportunity:
The Insights team is seeking a Lead Analyst, Insights, to drive key initiatives that enable the development of Enterprise, Regional, and Divisional data products primarily supporting finance, commercial and supply chain functions in a manufacturing environment. These products will support analytics, reporting, applications, and emerging technologies across the organization. An ideal candidate would be a finance professional looking for a new challenge who is proficient in data modeling/ architecture with expert-level analytical capabilities.
How you will impact WestRock:
* Lead the design and development of data models and architectures to support scalable analytics and reporting solutions.
* Partner with business and technology teams to define requirements for enterprise and regional data products, provide thought-leadership for business partners in design process, prioritization, and acceleration of delivery of information, while collaborating with IT partners to optimize the technical solution to meet business needs.
* Translate complex business needs into actionable data strategies and solutions.
* Ensure data integrity, governance, and compliance across all insights platforms.
* Provide thought leadership on leveraging data for advanced analytics and future technology adoption.
* Partner with the Data Governance organization and business data stewards to design solutions to support consistent reporting.
* Conceptualize and document audit test scripts, partnering with maintenance resources, to ensure information is always accurate in reporting dashboards and tools.
* Handle stakeholder inquiries related to data products.
What you need to succeed:
* Bachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
* Minimum 10 years work experience
* Strong finance background with a passion for data-driven decision-making.
* Expert-level analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data modeling and architecture.
* Hands-on experience with SQL, data transformation and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik, Alteryx, Palantir), and cloud-based data platforms.
* Ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams.
* Familiarity with predictive analytics, machine learning, or emerging data technologies preferred.
* Experience in enterprise-scale data environments preferred.
* Fluency in invoice to cash processes inside ERPs
* Experience transforming large volumes of data using analytics tools
* Skilled at extracting detailed data from ERP systems and reconciling inconsistencies across sources.
* Ability to design processes outside the ERP to address data gaps or collaborate with source system owners to implement improvements.
* Proficient in identifying key validation points and creating routines for regular checks (e.g., reconciling extracted revenue with the income statement).
* Capable of developing extensive validation processes to ensure accurate data flow from source systems through the data warehouse and into reporting tools.
