Description
This client is a leader in the deployment of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic signal infrastructure, and roadway technology solutions. With a strong presence in Florida and a commitment to innovation, safety, and mobility, partners with public agencies to enhance transportation networks. The Traffic Signal Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of traffic signal systems and ITS devices. This role supports roadway improvement projects and ensures the safe and efficient operation of traffic control infrastructure.
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in electronics or electrical systems preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in traffic signal or ITS installation and maintenance.
Knowledge of NEMA traffic signal equipment and FDOT specifications.
Familiarity with underground utility locating and safe excavation practices.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
Valid Florida driver’s license with clean driving record.
IMSA certification (Level I or II) in Traffic Signal or Roadway Lighting is a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Electrical Wiring & Circuitry: Proficient in reading schematics and wiring diagrams, and working with low-voltage and high-voltage systems.
Controller Programming: Experience with traffic signal controller software (e.g., Econolite, Siemens, McCain).
ITS Integration: Familiarity with integrating traffic signals with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), including fiber optics and wireless communication.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Strong ability to identify and resolve issues with signal timing, detection systems, and communication failures.
GIS & Mapping Tools: Basic understanding of geographic information systems for asset tracking and planning.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
