    License and Certification Qualifications: None required.Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.Experience Qualifications: Three years in an office/clerical environment required. Experience in customer service preferred.Skills Qualifications: Ability to type and perform clerical duties with a high rate of speed and accuracy; demonstrated skills in oral and written communication; demonstrated skills in organization and problem solving; ability to follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately; ability to file and maintain documents and records; ability to detect and correct errors in standard English language usage; competent technology skills in word processing, graphics, and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite; ability to become proficient in software tools; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively perform multiple tasks; ability to prepare reports and draft professional business correspondence; and ability to act as a representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools.Primary Responsibilities: Provide professional customer service and serve as the first point of contact for Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) parents and public when contacting the Department of Transportation and provide clerical support for management.1. Act as the primary contact person for GCPS parents and the public when contacting the Transportation Department.a. Assist with customer service duties required as the front line customer service assistant. b. Assist in resolving any concerns for customers and vendors pertaining to transportation operations.2. Provide remedies for addressing route concerns and any other issues.a. Assist in answering the telephone calls for the transportation parent lines and internal lines.b. Direct telephone calls to appropriate personnel.3. Act as the primary contact for answering service and documentation of incoming calls.a. Manage the 24-hour answering service and the concerns raised to that activity.b. Maintain the customer support issue documentation to ensure all actions are completed and documentation of the resolution is maintained4. Act as the contact person for all departmental printing needs.a. Manage and coordinate all printing requisitions.b. Order materials in a timely manner.c. Maintain a professional relationship with printing personnel.d. Maintain and follow up on all forms and printing requirements. 5. Assist with ordering office supplies and processing returns for the Transportation Department.a. Work with outside supply companies and the internal warehouse supply department.b. Handle the returns of any supplies. 6. Assist with the breakdown of monthly expenditure summaries.a. Assist in the budget process for monthly spending summaries. b. Monitor record keeping and receipts.7. Record meeting minutes and prepare for distribution for the Transportation Department.a. Perform clerical duties as required by management.b. Take minutes at key meetings attended by department representatives and distribute minutes to all attendees.8. Act as the servicing agent for Improper Passing and Route Hazard forms.a. Receive and route Improper Passing and Route Hazard forms.b. Ensure files are current and retain files for reference.9. Create, produce, and manage bus support materials, including the Student Bus Cards, bus route numbers bus forms, and other direct bus support materials.a. Assist with the processes involved in creating and publishing the monthly department newsletter.10. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
